Data Anonymizer

In 2022 Datajuris launched a digital tool that anonymises documents automatically using artificial intelligence, significantly reducing the time and cost of anonymising documents.

Data Anonymizer was developed using highly complex documents, especially decisions from some of the main Portuguese courts, but it can anonymise any kind of document.

Colectânea de Jurisprudência

The Colectânea de Jurisprudência enters a new digital era.

One of the most important legal collections in Portugal, with decisions selected by judges since 1976, now available on a modern, intuitive platform built for professional practice.

More than access to information, it offers curation, rigour and relevance - for faster, more efficient and more reliable research.

Less noise. More judgement. More value.

AI4JURIS

Why this project:

Although the number of digital tools for the legal sector has grown in recent years, new technologies have been adopted slowly in this field, which depends heavily on people and their capacity to carry out tasks. One example of this slowness is that the Portuguese State has been found against by the European Court of Human Rights in more than 75% of the cases it has examined, the main violation being the excessive length of Portuguese court proceedings.

AI4JURIS objectives:

AI4JURIS proposes an innovative system to streamline some of the most time-consuming legal tasks, applying the latest technology to the vast amount of data now available in order to speed up and support human decision-making, making it faster, more efficient, safer and more reliable. The system should be able to automatically:

  • Anonymise court decisions, protecting the privacy of everyone involved;
  • Classify legal documents, identify relevant cross-references and spot any legislative amendments or revisions;
  • Annotate legislative documents using external sources (e.g. other legislation, theses, videos…);
  • Support legal professionals (e.g. lawyers, in-house counsel) in their daily work through an intelligent assistant.
